Five days
Twelve people
South West WA
November 2026

By application only

GROUND is a five-day gathering in the South West of Western Australia. Twelve people. No agenda beyond being completely present in one of the most extraordinary places on earth.

We're not going to tell you what it will do for you.

We don't know what it will do for you. We know what this land does to people. We know what happens when you stop performing, stop producing, stop moving. For long enough that something underneath all of that gets a chance to surface.

But what surfaces for you. That's between you and the place.

What we can tell you: the people who come to GROUND aren't broken. They're not in crisis. They're at the top of their game by almost any measure that's visible.

And something is missing. Not obviously. Not dramatically. Quietly. Persistently. Most of them couldn't name it before they arrived. Most can, after.

If you need certainty before you arrive, this probably isn't for you.

There are fifty thousand years of knowledge in this land.

02 · The place

The South West of Western Australia.

Three hours south of Perth, one of the most remote cities on earth. The Indian Ocean on one side. Ancient karri forests pressing in from the other. Caves that go deep into limestone formed over hundreds of thousands of years. A river that meets the sea. Surf breaks that draw people from everywhere. Vineyards grown from soil so particular the wine tastes of this place and nowhere else.

Most of the world doesn't know it exists.
That's not a flaw. That's the point.

GROUND takes place across private properties in this landscape. Bedrooms, not hotel rooms. Space to be alone when you need it and together when you don't. The specific accommodation varies. We'll share full details when we talk.

Everything you need. Nothing you don't.

What follows is not a programme.
It's an invitation to feel what's possible when you stop.

DAY 01 the first day
Arrival
"There are fifty thousand years of knowledge in this land."

The first day is about standing inside it long enough for your usual sense of scale to quietly give way.

Most people arrive carrying the last few weeks. The first day doesn't ask you to put them down. It just makes them feel less urgent.

DAY 02 the second day
Deep
Time
"Scale does something that strategy can't."

There are things in this landscape that have been forming since before recorded history. An hour alone in it, without agenda or output, does something specific.

We've seen it enough times to stop being surprised. Something comes loose that didn't know it was held.

DAY 03 the third day
Salt
Water
"The body knows before the mind."

Salt water. There's something in the ocean here that resets you at a level below thought. Raw, cold, alive. You come out different to how you went in.

There's a question waiting on the other side of that.

DAY 04 the fourth day
Return
"The world you're returning to hasn't changed. Something else has."

You came here with questions. It's never been about answers. It's about knowing which questions still matter.

04 · A specific person at a specific moment

You're not in crisis.
You're not burned out.
You're running well.

Something that used to be available isn't, quite. Not gone. Just harder to reach than it was. The pace of the last few years has something to do with it. So does the noise.

You've tried more information. More strategy. More time away. You know that's not it.

What's needed is something more like contact. With a place that has no interest in your metrics. With people carrying the same unasked questions. With the version of yourself that doesn't make it into any room you're currently in.

If that's where you are. This is for you.

This is not for

  • Those still looking for the formula
  • Those who want to optimise what already works
  • Those who need the week to produce something they can use on Monday

It tends to resonate with people who have already built something meaningful, and are no longer convinced that continuing in the same direction is the answer.

12 People. Every time. No exceptions.

This number isn't a marketing choice. It's the number of people who can sit around a fire and have a real conversation. We won't go beyond it.

This isn't for everyone

If you're looking for a framework, a network, or a takeaway deck, this isn't it.

GROUND doesn't produce outputs.

05 · Why we built this

Northern Mozambique.
2002.

Four hours from the nearest town. No road in. No electricity. A region so remote it had been largely forgotten by the outside world. Where life was brutal and short.

We looked at it and saw something. Naively blind to the challenges that lay ahead.

What followed over seventeen years became something the world noticed. Not because of the lodge. Because of what the lodge made possible. Sixty thousand people. Schools. Clean water. Children fed, so they'd come to school. Mothers reaching care they couldn't reach before. Marine ecosystems protected. Small enterprises built by the communities themselves.

We set the benchmark for what sustainable tourism could be. Not because we were doing good alongside the business. Because we'd built something that proved the two were never separate to begin with.

A cyclone closed the chapter. What it taught us stayed.

We didn't build GROUND because we read about this kind of experience. We built it because we've lived the thing it's trying to give back to people. The specific quality of being completely present in your own life.

We accepted nothing. We challenged everything. Nothing about it was conventional. Not the location, not the model, not the idea that a small lodge in one of the world's most fragile regions could be both commercially serious and do genuine good.

It was, for seventeen years. GROUND is built on the same conviction.

Mozambique gave it to us first.
